Picross S will offer the 2D version of the puzzle format, but Jupier most recently released Picross 3D Round 2 for the Nintendo 3DS last year, which presented its puzzles in the shape of a cube. Picross 3D is far and away my favourite puzzle game for any platform, but they didn't treat it amazingly well on the 3DS: Picross 3D 2 came out in Japan 6 whole years after the DS original. It took an extra entire year before they localized it for non-Japan countries.

My process is to add all of the numbers and add all of the spaces. Subtract this number from the length of the row or column. If the number you come up with is less than any of the numbers in your selected row/column, you'll be able to place your mark.for example on a 10x10 puzzle your row shows 321. 3+2+1 +2(number of spaces) =8. 10 (row size) - minus 8 = 2. So now skip the first two spots in the row and put a mark in column 3.the same theory works if the 'big' number is in the middle.Row is 1311.1+3+1+1 +3=9. 10-9 = 1 skip.

So in this case you imagine the first spot is the imaginary 1,skip the 2nd column because you are assuming the first column is marked. Now skip column 3 because your math gave you 1 for 1 skip. Mark 4 and 5 because these are guaranteed spots after math.probably a bit confusing until you get the hang of It.
