I recall that it had the girl from Different Stokes in it.
    Pretty sure I had it.

Won't be any good if it's all high def and well acted, it's got to be heavily pixalated and hammy.

Yeah she died though in tragic circumstances (in real life)
Ironically the PS4 boxed edition might actually be a good buy, flash forward 10 years I imagine it as being an ultra-rare limited run game than collectors are willing to pay £200 for on ebay to complete their PS4 collection.

Bit of a random remaster, who asked for, or even wants, it?

I was a pro at Night Trap. Learned the timing of all the attacks for optimum win Could be interesting to see how this port goes.

25 years though.. anyone else suddenly feeling old?

As trashy as the game was, it was an important title. Also, a very (in)famous one that few people actually got to play.
I had fun with it first time around, but unless it's dirt cheap I'm not feeling particularly inclined to revisit it.

If it's more like Until Dawn and a remake/loosely based on that would be good. Although a remaster is pointless. It was an atrocious game

Technically, it's actually 30 years old, it was first made for the Control-Vision prototype, a console which ran games from VHS tapes.

It's only just occurred to me that there were quite a lot of similarities between the gameplay in Night Trap and the Five Nights At Freddy's games. Maybe the success of those was partly behind the decision?

If I get time at the weekend I might dig out the Mega CD and Night Trap for a little nostalgia trip.

You know for all the times i've seen & heard about this game going back to it's initial release with all the controversy that surrounded it I don't think i've ever actually played it.
I think this may end up been a game I pick up at some point, Probably when its on sale or something as I've built up a kind of strange curiosity about it over the years.
Off Topic but FMV game related, I rented/completed a game on PS1 not that long after I got it called Psychic detective that was.. interesting. I also played/completed the X-Files FMV game on PS1 & actually quite liked it.

I suppose it is one of the best known games that most people haven't played.
I'm now waiting for the remake of Plumbers Don't Wear Ties.

Looking forward to becoming a S.C.A.T. agent again (Sega Control Attack Team). I was a fan of these games at the time it was amazing to see real video footage in games. How about releasing Sewer Shark, Dracula Unleashed, Ground Zero : Texas or INXS / Kris Kross make my video titles.

Yes, I really liked the concept of FMV when I first encountered it on the Mega CD. Only had Night Trap, Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective and a demo for Slam City with Scottie Pippen but it was great, visually speaking at least. Obviously you were limited gameplay wise.

My daughter and I spent a very rainy afternoon completing this on saga emulator. It is brilliant.
I for one would welcome FMV games again. I had Dracula. ripper .black dahlia. X files. Sherlock Holmes. Had clued that was fmv based and the last express which was almost a fmv game.
Trouble is its easier and cheaper to programmed your character rather than pay an actor.

Never thought I'd see Night Trap making a comeback, of all games..

I think they tried before with a failed kickstarter.

The game will be $15 digital (about £12?) and come with a new survival mode. There will also be a theatre mode, allowing you to watch the incredible acting and production values without that pesky 'gameplay' getting the way.

Do you have the guts to take on the sewers and blow away the rati-gators and other nasties lurking below a major corporation? If your answer is yes, then Sewer Shark is your game! As one of the first Genesis CD-ROM releases, Sewer Shark takes you on a high-speed trip through the underground works of a city's sewer system! It's a messy job, but someone has to do it! Piloting your Hole Hog sewercraft, you and your veteran backseat co-pilot, Ghost, must maneuver through twisting tunnels! Another co-pilot, the mechanical Catfish, speeds ahead of you, scouting targets! The objective is simple: blow away the rodents and follow the directions Catfish gives you.

If you fail to follow them to the letter, you'll hit a dead end! Crash and burn! Watch the arrows at the top of the console -they show you which route to take. Also watch your Energy Level which displays available ammunition. If you run out, you get to do some quick maneuvering while prime targets pass you by!So, do you think you have what it takes to face this disgusting menace?

Then listen to your co-pilot and 'pretend it's just a game!'
