Super Turrican 2 is a 16-bit shooter game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Factor 5 and marketed by Ocean Software in 1995. Part of the Turrican series, it is the sequel of Super Turrican for the same platform.Super Turrican 2 featured more action than the first part and used Dolby Pro-Logic surround sound as well as many 'Mode 7' effects, but sacrificed the big levels of the original Turrican games. The major addition is a grappling arm, similar to that used in Bionic Commando, which can be used to swing between platforms and grab power-ups.The game was released on the Virtual Console in North America on September 29, 2008. From the hot sun radiating its warmth behind the desert sand as you speed over the dunes of an alien planet on the opening level to the serene, underwater planet filled with unknown dangers in the depths below, Super Turrican 2 shows great passion, confidence and understanding FACTOR 5 's team had with the SNES architecture. ADDICTIVENESS: 9 Super Turrican 2 reminds me a lot of CONTRA 3 which as you might know, brings a lot to the table in this category.
There are a great variety in it's weapons in its run and gun game play that are all fun to use such as spread shots and flamethrowers and also some intense vehicle and shooter stages both 2-d and 3-d that all control tightly. You're solider also has the ability to ( I call it SHAMUS) roll into a little ball and place mines. The real 'hook' to the addictiveness of this game is simply that.a grappling hook!

The level design supports this mechanic well and once you master it you'll be swinging away and latching on for dear life like a Belmont in a space suit!! There are also many hidden secrets throughout its stages to unearth keeping the replay value high. CHALLENGE: 8 The challange in this game might seem daunting to some less seasoned gamers because of the great variety of gameplay mechanics you will have to adapt to through the giant stages. Any one of the sinister bosses that only want to put an end to you're path of glory and finally.the limited amount of continues you actually have to plow through this epic might leave some less seasoned gamers a little frustrated. If trail and error aren't you're thing then you might wanna unbuckle you're seat belt and leave this ride for another day.
