PLOT SUMMARYLeft masterless after losing their bosses to accidents, the minions before meeting Gru had begun living in Antarctica all by themselves, tucked inside their igloos. But, soon enough they began feeling redundant and went into collective depression.

A minion Kevin decided that he will bring out his people from the sorrow and along with Bob and Stuart began a journey of finding a new boss.Life took them to New York where the trio stuck around with each other mostly. They spent a day at the mall and while watching television in the comforts of their bed, they found out about the villain con that will be held in Orlando, the same week.The three decide on going there to find their new boss. When the three begin their journey, they take lift with another family who too are on their way to the same convention. The family robs a bank on their way to Orlando but are extremely kind to them.

At the convention, the minions get hired by Super-villain Scarlet Overkill as her new henchmen and it seems the three have found their leader.Super-villain takes minions home with her. Her ultimate dream is to steal the crown of Queen Elizabeth for herself.

She had dreamt of being a princess ever since she was a li'l girl. She threatens the minions to make them steal the crown for her. The next day, the trio reaches Buckingham Palace. After fighting the protectors of the crown and chasing the Queen, the crown is theirs but they earn it. Ronin special forces. A sudden co-incidence leads Bob to becoming the King of England.With Bob attaining what she had dreamt all her life, Scarlet slips into her venomous mode and is all set to take revenge on the little ones.

But the loyal Bob decides on getting her coronated as the Queen. He gets a law passed that makes her crowning easier She grabbed the offer but betrays the minions by locking them up in a torture room. Luckily the minions escape and go on to find Scarlet.Meanwhile, the rest of the minion clan flee from Antartica and after travelling the globe, they too land up in London trying to find the trio. On the day of her coronation, Scarlet is on cloud nine. The minion trio in their attempt to get to her, hurt her. Scarlet is furious.

Her criminal friends begin a tryst of hunting down the minions. Bob and Stuart are found by them but Kevin escapes easily and bumps into Queen Elizabeth. In another attempt to escape the clutches of the villains Kevin enters the evil creation of Scarlet's husband and become huge in size, almost to the extent of being fearsome.He is successful in saving Bob and Stuart and is rewarded by the Queen.

Just when in the film is on the verge of ending, Gru comes and flees with the Queen's crown and the minion clan run after him as they see him as a prospective boss.
