Dan Andrew Middleton was born on November 8th, 1991 in Aldershot, England. He began his YouTube career playing Pokemon going by the username Pokemon Dan. Once Dan found out about Minecraft he decided to make a secondary channel about it called TheDiamoundMinecart//DanTDM in 2012.

He came up with the name because he thought the 2 coolest things in Minecraft were diamonds and minecarts. Hence, TheDiamondMinecart.
